#300SafeBloodtoSave900Lives

A life-saving blood donation movement for individuals with sickle cell disorder.

#300SafeBloodtoSave900Lives

A single blood donation can save up to three lives. With our #300SafeBloodtoSave900Lives initiative, we aim to secure 300 units of safe blood to support 900 sickle cell patients in need of blood transfusions by 2030.
We rally communities every December to demystify donation myths, encourage healthy donors to donate ethnically matched blood, critical for those battling SCD complications. Every 2 minutes someone is in need of blood, your arm could be someone’s lifeline. It takes about 15 minutes to save three lives. Blood shortages shouldn’t cost lives.

#300savebloodtosave900lives

In 2021, we launched this initiative in Iwaya community of Lagos, partnering with:
Lagos State Blood Transfusion Service (LSBTS), The White Cell Foundation, Rotaract Club of Mushin Golden. 70 residents including children were screened for blood genotype, HIV and Hepatitis. 100+ residents were educated on the need, myths and misconceptions of blood donation. 10 units of safe blood were collected, directly saving the lives of 30 people.

You can be someone’s type, Join us this December to:
🩸Donate blood and become a hero for sickle cell warriors.
🩸Inspire others by sharing your donation journey.
